Summary of My upcoming novel:

When Shae Corbin is found dead, dangling from the net of a shrimp boat at the mouth of the Savannah River, the city’s restaurant industry is turned upside down. Not only did Shae work for Scotland Keyes at his fine-dining Italian eatery, she was also his niece. Scott must tap into Savannah’s weird hospitality hive-mind of friends and family to track down her killer, while still keeping the wheels of his restaurant from flying off the road.

Scotland has no idea how to find a murderer, let alone catch one. As he looks into Shae’s personal life, more bodies begin to surface. Shae’s vanilla boyfriend is found hanging in an empty warehouse, and her secret, live-wire lover is in the wind. Then her estranged father, renowned food critic Philip Estherhouse, is found full of holes, with a restaurant review stapled to his forehead. 

Scott is able to enlist the help of pugnacious, post-traumatic Detective Roberta Lee. Clues point to the Petunia Dill family, Savannah’s restaurant royalty, whose systemic racism was made public by Shae the previous year. 

Every clue seems to come with another body, moving them farther from the truth. As Scotland tries to run down the killer, losing his job and his girlfriend along the way, he has to decide what's most important in his life—is it a career working seventy hours a week serving food and wine to snobby diners, or is it the family and friends who remind him who he truly is when the restaurant doors close?
